**Position Details**

Stewards Individual Placements (SIP) provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants work with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health.

SIP in partnership with Gulf Islands National Seashore are seeking a Youth Ambassador and Civic Leadership intern who will enhance the visitor experience, resource stewardship, and safety through guest services, interpretation and education, and digital communications. Gulf Islands National Seashore ranks as one of the most visited national parks in the United States. The park constantly seeks to enhance a person's experience in person and virtually by sharing relevant, diverse, and inclusive stories. Barrier islands are critical habitats for several endangered and threaten species, further their position near mainland communities provide protection from increasing strong tropical systems. By increasing guests' understanding of seashore resources, the intern will play a role in preserving the over 139,000 acres of Gulf Islands National Seashore.
